OVERVIEW:

MAELLE JUMPER features stripes with smooth and textured stitches for a simple, enjoyable colorwork project. The wide raglan and oversized fit create a stylish look.

CONSTRUCTION:

MAELLE JUMPER is worked seamlessly from the top down in the round with raglan increases. The garment begins with a ribbed collar, which is folded to create a folded neckband. Short rows are then worked to shape the back yoke for an improved fit. The yoke continues in the round with raglan increases until the desired yoke depth is reached. At the underarm, the work is separated to the body and sleeves. The body is worked in the round down to the hem. The sleeves are then worked in the round to the cuffs.

This piece is designed with positive ease of approximately 21 - 24 cm [8¼ – 9½ inches].

YARN: 

You will need the combined quantities of the following.      

Main color:

• 5 (5) 5 (6) 6 (6) 6 balls of Fine Merino: 50 g = 175 m (191 yards).
• 4 (4) 4 (5) 5 (5) 5 balls of Pearl Mohair : Pearl Mohair: 25 g = 210 m (230 yards).

Contrast color:

• 3 (3) 3 (4) 4 (4) 5 balls of Fine Merino: 50 g = 175 m (191 yards).
• 3 (3) 3 (3) 3 (4) 4 balls of Pearl Mohair : Pearl Mohair: 25 g = 210 m (230 yards).

Use 1 strand of each yarn held together throughout the project.

GAUGE:  

20 stitches x 27 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in stockinette stitch using 4.0 mm needles [US 6] 

SUGGESTED NEEDLES AND NOTIONS:

Circular needles: 4.0 mm [US 6] and 3.0 mm [US 2.5], 40, 80 or 100 cm [16, 32 or 40 inches], 8 stitch markers and a tapestry needle.

TECHNIQUES USED IN THIS PATTERN:

Top down circular knitting, stockinette stitch, 1x1 ribbing, German short rows, increases (M1R, M1Rp, M1L, M1Lp), stranded colorwork.

COLORS USED FOR THE MODELS:

• Main color (MC): Fine Merino and Pearl Mohair both in 901 MULBERRY (The neckband, German short rows, hem, and cuffs are worked in MC.)
