OVERVIEW:

Romane Jumper is a soft and comfortable oversized sweater with a delicate lace yoke. It is knitted with Puno Fine and Pearl Mohair held together, creating a warm, lightweight fabric with a soft halo.

CONSTRUCTION:

Romane Jumper is worked seamlessly in the round from the top down with a circular yoke. Begin by casting on stitches and working the neck ribbing, which is then folded to the inside to create a folded neckband. Next, work the yoke in lace following the charts. German short rows are worked after the charts have been completed. Once the yoke is finished, divide the work into the body and sleeves. The body is worked in the round to the hem, and the sleeves are then worked in the round to the cuffs.

This piece is designed for an oversized fit with approximately 20 cm [7¾ inches] of positive ease across all sizes.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:

YARN:

• 7 (7) 8 (8) 9 (9) 10 balls of MAJO GARN Puno Fine: 50 g e = 125 m (137 yards), and
• 4 (4) 5 (5) 6 (6) 6 balls of MAJO GARN Pearl Mohair: 25 g e = 210 m (230 yards).

Use 1 strand of each yarn held together throughout the project.

GAUGE: 

• 16 stitches x 25 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in stockinette stitch using 5.0 mm needles [US 8]
• 18 stitches x 21 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in lace pattern using 5.0 mm needles [US 8]

SUGGESTED NEEDLES AND NOTIONS:

 Circular needles: 5.0 mm [US 8] and 4.0 mm [US 6], 40, 80 or 100 cm [16, 32 or 40 inches], stitch markers, tapestry needle.

TECHNIQUES USED IN THIS PATTERN:

Top down circular knitting, stockinette stitch, 1x1 ribbing, German short rows, increases (M1R, M1L) and decrease (K2tog, K2tog tbl), yarn over.
